I agree. I couldn't imagine what it would be like in the 16-Bit era. Even all time great games like Super Mario World had flickering and slowdown. It didn't detract from the enjoyment at all. I try to buy the best version possible, being that I own all platforms but sometimes I go back and buy the "inferior" version or get them for free. I rarely, if ever, notice a difference.
I appreciate what they're trying to do but we have a new generation of OCD amateur graphics snobs that can't seem to enjoy a game because a blade of grass was missing in a YouTube video comparison.
