Not SSD, it uses (fairly) high end NAND Flash storage. Which is marginally faster than a proper HDD. An SSD is much faster but also more expensive to get a reliable one. NAND is likely chosen for cost, size, and power consumption. And Nintendo probably chose a speed a bit faster than an HDD intentionally.
