I don't buy into the hype for most of these hyped games. Not to say I don't fail, as I bought into my personal hype for FFXIII and that fell flat.
But generally these "hyped" games don't appeal that much to me, but the games that are hyped and end up following through even if I buy it day one do.
Some examples include Nioh, FFXV, Fallout 4, ROTKXIII, Dragon Quest Heroes. I bought all these day 1 and they were definitely satisfying and perfectly met their respective hype. Games like Star Ocean 5, ME Andromeda, The Order 1886, No Man's Sky, Evolve etc. all gave me the feeling of something being missing so not even a purchase yet. Though I may end up picking up SOV, and ME down the line when they are cheap.
