UPGRADED LIQUIDSKY STREAMING GAME SERVICE OPENS BETA TO EVERYONE

LiquidSky is no longer operating a closed beta. The streaming service announced over the weekend that anyone with a compatible Windows PC is free to download the new beta 2.0 client, which includes access to its newly upgraded hardware infrastructure.

 

MIRAGE: ARCANE WARFARE CLOSED BETA BEGINS TODAY, FULL RELEASE IS COMING IN MAY

Torn Banner Studios announced earlier this month that the mystical multiplayer battler Mirage: Arcane Warfare would enter closed beta testing on March 27. Now that the big day has arrived, it's taken the natural next step by revealing that the game will go into full release on May 23.

The Hearthstone expansion Journey to Un'Goro is coming in early April, bringing with it a transition from the Year of the Kraken to the Year of the Mammoth. As we explained last month, that means The Grand Tournament, Blackrock Mountain, and The League of Explorers are being rotated out of Standard, as well as a half-dozen Classic cards are being retired to Wild mode, making room for new expansions, a new Hero, and other fresh content. In the leadup to the changeover, Blizzard is holding a "Mammoth celebration" which will grant players daily rewards, including gold, card packs, and a Golden Volcanosaur, just for logging in.

 

CIVILIZATION 6 'SPRING UPDATE' WILL REDUCE WARMONGER PENALTIES AND TUNE THE AI

The patch notes for the upcoming Civilization 6 Spring Update break down a wide range of changes coming to the game, which 2K games said will include "balance changes, AI adjustments, multiplayer changes, and bug fixes." Highlights include a Harbor buff that "will bring the strength of the various districts in line with each other," and a reduction in warmonger penalties, "so they only hit with their full strength if you are truly wresting valuable cities from your opponents."

Inbetweengames is a group of Berlin-based ex-Yager devs whose debut project is All Walls Must Fall—a super-stylish "tech-noir" tactics game set in the year 2089 in a world where the Berlin Wall still stands and the Cold War never ended. Mixing time travel, futuristic dystopia, stealth and backs-to-the-wall rhythm-inspired combat, the game echoes everything from X-Com to Syndicate, Superhot to Braid, Crypt of the Necrodancer to any number of old-school isometric DOS games. It's early days yet, but it looks pretty fantastic.
Update: All Walls Must Fall—inbetweengames uber-stylish "tech-noir" tactics game—has been crowdfunded after just five days.

The mid-range Pascal part is the latest to added to Nvidia's "Prepare for Battle" bundle promotion. Initially the free game offer applied to qualified purchases of a GeForce GTX 1070 or 1080 card, desktop system, or laptop. It later expanded to included the GTX 1080 Ti after it launched, and now the GTX 1060 is joining the party.
