So City were just fined for players surrounding the referee to protest a penalty decision.

On its own I get that, you don't want to see players bitching at the ref all the time and complaining about everthing. But at the same time it's pretty stupid that that gets clubs fined while players can do much more annoying things (which are also against the rules) and get away with it. How about we start bringing in some heavy fines for those pricks that jump on the floor holding their faces and roll around for 5 minutes when somebody lightly brushes against them?

A good way to remove cheating/diving from the game would be to enforce after match replay fines. The game is the game, and the flow of the game is fine and if the ref thinks it was a penalty there and then, fine. But after review and it's plain to see a player cheated, the club should be fined. The club will be unhappy at the player and in turn it will hopefully stop diving. I mean players can get bans and fines for violent behavior not seen by the ref (see recent Zlatan incident), so why not other things?

It's got to the point when if you feel contact in the box you go down, regardless of if it was a foul or not and make sure you don't put you hand to the ground for stability, don't want to make it look like a genuine fall (which is what normal people do but divers don't for some reason).

Hmm, pie.
