@TheDarkShape: I agree, the style and complicated nature of these games always turned me off. On a side note the whole series is tremendusly creative. I remember reading that the characters would kill themselves to unleash their monster selves. This would be my first time playing Persona.

It sounds like your thinking of Persona 3, where they put guns to the side of their heads and pulled the trigger to unleash their persona's , but they where fake guns called evokers this was done to mitigate the charge of them using  suicide as a game ploy.
