The problem is developement time. Even if you go there now, with a bag of money, looking to start some projects, it ll be years before they are ready.
Its too little, too late, to make a differnce.
If you want even decentish results, you gotta have this stuff sorted out early into the gen.
Waiting 3.5years to start trying something, is just too late for it to show any effect.
