Voice actress Claudia Black has hinted that Naughty Dog will announce the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy release date sooner rather than later, according to a post on her Twitter page.

Black, who voices feisty Uncharted series heroine, Chloe Fraser, replied to fans with the following statement: “Think we can expect news of a date soon - if our schedules are any indication.”

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a standalone expansion to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and sees Fraser teaming up with Nadine Ross to locate a mythical Indian artifact known as the Tusk of Ganesh. The game takes place months after the events of Nathan Drake’s epic swansong, although those of you hoping for the cheeky treasure hunter to put in an appearance will be disappointed.

Still, Naughty Dog isn’t short of ambition for its final Uncharted adventure; the game will feature one of the biggest stages in the series to date, and gamers can expect a different tone to what we’re used to with Drake’s previous globetrotting antics. Check out the latestUncharted: The Lost Legacy screenshots to see how it’s shaping up. The game is scheduled to release exclusively for PS4 in 2017.

As previously confirmed, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be the final outing from series creator Naughty Dog, although it hasn’t ruled out the possibility of another studio working on Uncharted 5. Given that the franchise remains one of Sony’s most successful first-party properties (Uncharted 4 sold over eight million copies alonewe can’t imagine the format holder leaving it out to dry.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Uncharted: The Legacy release date.
