I think Europeans being more reserved and kinda in their own world is a bit of a problem too, in the US/Canada in most neighborhoods it's customary to go chat with your neighbor and welcome them to the neighborhood and stuff like that or at the very least give a friendly wave hello now and again. I dont know a thing about europeans so I cant comment.
But refugies cant be deported. They can stop resiving assistance and if they leave the country for any reason, like a vacation or something, they wont be allowed in if their refugie status is revoked. At least thats what I know of the canadian law since I was working at the inmigration office for a while. As far as I know it could be diferent in EU.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
