Without wealth, people are more inclined to get children, because the children are supposed to care for their parents once the parents have reached their final stage of life. But with pension fonds and the like that we have in highly developed countries, people tend to put money to the side for their final stage of life instead of investing it in raising children; nevermind that raising children is also a lot of work, so having no children also means that people have a lot more time for themselves. |
Yeah. I know how many people criticize poor people for having many children, like that's the reason they're poor, when in actuality they have many children because they're poor (they need children to help them with housework, and to help them when they're old in states that don't have any services for the eldery).
