Only interesting thing here is how even PS3 games got more coverage. PS4 makes sense at least.

Because PS3 dominated in Europe and many countries in europe have their own reviews, makes perfect sense. If Xbox was ever a thing in Europe it might get more coverage, it proberbly won't and the market share- fanbase and amount of playstation sites is expidentially larger in europe, maybe except for the UK which was and still is a pretty big country for Microsoft.

In the end it doesn't really matter, a good game is generally a good game on both platforms the only real "bad ports" are generally on pc with a rare exception here and there ^^

To say X360 wasn't a thing in Europe is definetly an overstatement. Even in Italy, a storically PS dominated market, I knew a lot of people who have switched to 360 after the Ps2, a lot.

The reason why PS games have more media coverege (and had more media coverage even in Ps3 days) is more simple that it seems. It's because Sony is better and more proactive than its competitors to ensure its games get media coverage. That's one of the reasons of Playstation long-term success.

Also, during the Ps2 and Ps3 era, the fact that Playstion was market also as a multimedia machine, other than just a game console, ensuring the platform got more coverage even from techonogy and electorinics magazines and sites, not just on gaming focused media.
