Thinking on it some more, I find his comment kind of strange, as well as wanting a smaller version of the system, because the main reason the console is its current size is because of the screen. I imagine the screen size was decided to best display home console visuals on the go. Compacting all that detail into a small screen may be a little difficult on the eyes for some people. Playing Zelda on a screen the size of the Vita may not be the best, as there's a lot to take in and that would be harder to see on a smaller screen. If you compare the buttons of the joy cons, they are the size of the 3DS and Vita buttons. So essentially, he'd be wanting a smaller screen to make this easier to carry around. Though I dunno if I'd wanna play console-like games on such a small screen...
