I guess this question kind of goes beyond the bounds of the thread, but it's a subject I'm interested in so waht the hell...

Not withstanding that movies take quite some time to go from theaters to Netflix (if they even make it at all), there is something to be said for the theater experience IMO.

Going to the theater, sitting in the seats, seeing the huge projection screen, watching previews, sitting through the credits, all of that is still important to me.

There are a couple of boutique theaters in my town and I'll frequently catch screenings of old movies there. Even movies that I have on BluRay or movies that are available on streaming. 

The experience is valuable to me in a way that sitting at home and watching NetFlix is not. It's hard to explain.
