I know for a fact that if you try to play NA Ps2 games on a 60Gb NA Ps3 (the fully backwards compatible Ps3) using a Pal Tv, those NA Ps2 games will not work. Is it the same situation for X1?

As far as i can tell you, it doesn't matter at all. Though most 360 games don't have a region lock at all.
