Jesus, man. You think the PS2 was hardcore only? The PS2 was the prequel Wii's "casual" explosion. Eyetoys, singstar? C'mon. Sony has always been the most balanced of the three first party's in terms of software offering. Nintendo has certain leanings, and so does Microsoft. Sony is the most spread out between hardcore and "casual."
