I don't think there's any arguing that women do more of their fair share of housework. My wife works much harder than me. She is awesome. I feel like I'm probably not alone in husbands thinking this of their wives.

I've seen studies both ways. I'm not saying one is true and the other isn't. But I've read a lot of well sourced articles (like the one above) who dispute this claim quite a bit.
Again - women are awesome. They deserve as much as men (if not more). I don't want to live in a world without women. But a joke as simple as the one he made having this reactions is...reaching.
