CIVILIZATION 6 LAUNCHES FREE 60-TURN DEMO

Since its arrival last October, Firaxis and 2K's Civilization 6 has launched a host of updates, a catalogue of player-made mods, and its Australian Summer DLC—which sees the land Down Under enter the fold for the first time in the entire Civ series. If you're yet to experience any of that, it's also now launched a free demo.

SMITE RIVALS, HI-REZ'S CCG-MOBA CROSSOVER, HAS BEEN 'SUSPENDED'

Smite Rivals is a free-to-play, cross-platform CCG with powerful echoes of Clash Royale—although, as Chris noted in his early preview, it "differentiates itself in the details, and the more I played the more significant they seemed." It was announced in January, with a release expected sometime later this year, but less than three months down the road developer Hi-Rez Studios has confirmed that its development has been put "on hold."

 

RAINBOW SIX PRO LEAGUE YEAR TWO GOES PC EXCLUSIVE

Ubisoft has announced that Year Two of the Rainbow Six Pro League will get underway later this month, kicking off three seasons of esports action leading up to a grand finale that will determine the one true Global Rainbow Six Champion. This year's competition will be different from last year's in one big way, however, because this time around, it's PC only.

 

TITANFALL 2 FREE DLC DETAILS WILL BE FORTHCOMING, RESPAWN PLEDGES

In my fairly-insignificant-in-the-wide-scheme-of-things opinion, Titanfall 2 was the best multiplayer shooter of 2016. While the player base can hardly rival the likes of Overwatch, studio Respawn claims in a new community update that it's growing. Oh, and more free DLC is coming.

 

TUROK 2: SEEDS OF EVIL REMASTER IS ON STEAM RIGHT NOW

Since none of us ever had the chance to see real life dinosaurs in the flesh, it's natural that we'd want to shoot at them in videogames. So it was nice that the original Turok remaster turned out well, and it's even better that its sequel – Turok 2: Seeds of Evil – has just appeared on Steam.

 

THE SURGE RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED IN LATEST MECH-MAULING TRAILER

Portraying its own so-called grim vision of the future, Focus Home and Deck 13's The Surge has showcased its "Souls meets System Shock" combat on a few occasions since its mid-2015 reveal. Its latest trailer takes a more cinematic route and celebrates its now confirmed launch date: May 16.

 

SNIPER ELITE 4 REVEALS 'DEATHSTORM' DLC, FIRST CHAPTER DUE NEXT WEEK
