So I went through a second playthrough and made a completely new character, and had way better results than my first try. The first female character I made ended up looking like Tony Parker, so that was never going to work. Also on the second playthrough, I hardly noticed the character oddities like I did the first playthrough.
From what I've played, I think it's brilliant. A lot of the dialogue is really funny, and reminds me of some proper space opera pulp.
