Honestly, I think people were ready to pounce on any sign of problems the moment they came. It's been very hard to know what to expect from ME Andromeda, and considering the series has a history of controversy (including one of the biggest in games history), I think everyone wanted to be on the forefront of the latest ME3 ending-gate.
To be fair the facial animations are bad, likely because Frostbite has always produced especially bizarre faces (it's great for landscapes though!), coupled with the fact that all the faces were likely generated by a catch-all character creator. I think if the game is truly great, it won't really matter. And the game looks fun and engrossing as hell.
