http://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-andromeda-trailer-introduces-jaal-the-big-blue-angaran/
A new Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer posted by the good folks at IGN introduces the alien race known as the Angara, and more specifically Jaal, a prominent member of the anti-Kett resistance who very much channels the great Garrus Vakarian, while at the same time being his exact opposite.

NO MAN'S SKY PATCH LETS YOU SUMMON YOUR NEW VEHICLES ON ANY PLANET YOU WANT
http://www.pcgamer.com/no-mans-sky-patch-lets-you-summon-your-new-vehicles-on-any-planet-you-want/
One of the shortcomings of No Man's Sky's Path Finder update was that the three new vehicles (called exocraft) could only be driven on your home planet: that is, the planet you built your base on. To drive the buggy, hovercraft, or cargo tank, you need to build an exocraft geobay to summon your new land-based rides, and you could only build those as part of your planetary base.
Patch 1.22, released today, changes that for the better.

RESEARCHERS USE MMO BETA TO STUDY HOW HUMANITY WILL ACT AT THE END OF THE WORLD
http://www.pcgamer.com/researchers-use-mmo-beta-to-study-how-humanity-will-act-at-the-end-of-the-world/
The XL Games MMO ArcheAge ran a brief open beta in the autumn of 2014, before stumbling into what we categorized as one of the worst launches in PC gaming history. It has since found its footing, though, and more interestingly for our purposes here today, it has provided some insight into how humanity might behave if—or when, depending on your personal philosophy—the world as we know it comes to an end.

>>If using an MMO game to study our behavior in such events is not surprising enough, it turns out that we're not as bad as we might think!

>>And GribbleGrunger made a thread about this announcecment.

PATHOLOGIC REMAKE GETS FREE MARBLE NEST DEMO
http://www.pcgamer.com/pathologic-remake-gets-free-marble-nest-demo/
Last year, Pathologic developer Ice-Pick Lodge said that while the incoming remake of its 2005 psychological horror game will remain true to its source material, it'll implement some "drastic changes" so as to bring it inline with modern expectations. Having played and thoroughly enjoyed the teaser demo launched towards the end of 2016—named The Marble Nest—I can confirm Ice-Pick Lodge has done so successfully. The dev has now released the complimentary demo to the public.

TESLAGRAD FOLLOW-UP WORLD TO THE WEST RELEASE DATE SET
http://www.pcgamer.com/teslagrad-follow-up-world-to-the-west-release-date-set/
Rain Games' Teslagrad is a fun Metroidvania-style platformer that landed in 2013 and, as Phil rightly noted at the time, weighs heavily on the fantastical side of acclaimed inventor Nikolai Tesla's legacy. World to the West is the Norwegian indie outfit's next venture—an "action-puzzler" that's set in the same universe as its indirect forerunner and follows the story of four protagonists who harness distinct special powers. It's also now got a release date: May 5.

SHADOW OF WAR GOES BEYOND MORDOR, DEVS ARE 'MASSIVELY INCREASING THE SCALE OF THE GAME'
http://www.pcgamer.com/shadow-of-war-goes-beyond-mordor-devs-are-massively-increasing-the-scale-of-the-game/
In conversation with the Official Xbox Magazine (via GamesRadar), de Plater (Monolith's vice president of creative) said: "One of the reasons it’s Shadow Of War and not just Mordor is that we’ve expanded beyond Mordor. So the Dark Lord is growing his armies, and his forces—led by the Witch-king—have come out of Mordor and attacked and assaulted the human city of Minas Ithil.

Orisa, the four-legged Overwatch tank with the gentle disposition who was revealed to the world earlier this month, will leave her extended stay on the PTR and go into full release on March 21. Blizzard revealed the rollout date today alongside a new "behind-the-scenes" video in which developers talk a bit about the inspirations for the character, what she brings to the game, and where she fits in with the rest of the Overwatch team.

"Hopefully I don't bore you to tears," said Jeff Kaplan last night in response to a Reddit AMA request posted last week by user AuTiMechanic. "Sure... let's do this!" For the three hours that followed, the Blizzard vice president answered hundreds of questions from eager fans—including who his favourite Overwatch hero is, what other games he likes to play in his spare time, and which wrestling techniques he prefers to use on the other developers.
