The is nothing mind boggling about it.

1. Other devices such as Android phones etc take time and R&D costs etc, nowdays Console makers buy their parts from companys like AMD so most of the R&D costs are most likely done by AMD. Do you really believe the PS4 for instance was losing lots of money on its release?. It was already using very weak PC hardware at its time of release and thats why we have the Pro version now, Same for XB1.

Other devices like mobile phones cost around $250 to make. Yt they are sold for $500+. Why do you think that is. And even if consoles these days take parts from other suppliers for things like the ram, processor, HDD...etc. Those parts re still all customized and tested internally before coming to market.

You are also saying something very common with PC types, "it was already using very weak PC hardware". No it wasn't; it was using PC hardware that when compared with everything else that needed to go into the box wouldn't cost more than $399. And that little fact, or some PC folks inability to comprehend that little fact is what makes these kinda discussions impossible.

Look at it this way, in 2013, could you build a PC for $400 that would have out performed the PS4? Right now in 2017, can you build a PC for $200-$250 that could outperform a PS4? And by build I am not just talking about CPU&GPU. I am talking about everything thats in the box. If you can for less, then yes, the consoles are using weak PC hardware.

2. 3rd party games are the biggest selling games on consoles (Except for Nintendo), More people buy a PS4 to play the best version of CoD or Fifa etc then they do to buy Uncharted etc. I know many people who own a Ps4 and dont own any of the Sony exclusives they just buy CoD, Fifa, Battlefields yearly releases. They know them games are also on PC and look better on PC but yet they game on consoles.

Because like I explained above, consoles are generally cheaper than PCs. And more straight forward.

3. If you understand the reason for why most multiplat games such as CoD and Fifa etc sell better on consoles (Even when the is a larger PC userbase) then you should also understand that even without exclusives the will always be a need for consoles. So this isnt a "Lets just have everything on PC" its about being able to buy a piece of hardware of your choice and being able to play "All" games on it.

But thats exactly what is happenning now. The compaies that give people a reason to not have to deal with PCs, are investing a lot of money to do just that. Now those comapnies are making their games for their platform. Why should they invest there money then sell it on a competing platform?Even companies that make graphic cards have card exclusive features when it comes to certain games yet you expect companies that make whole consoles to hold hands witheveryone and sing kumbaya?

Like i said the same thing could be said about Bluray players. Sony wants to sell bluray players so they should have exclusives on it, Samsung want to sell their players so they should have exclusives on it etc. This is anti consumer in every sense of the word and people wouldnt put up with having to buy different players to watch movies from different companys for long. Thats why the HDDVD standard died out etc.

No it can't, cause sony selling a blu-ray player is a very bad example. Especially when you consider that no special hardware or R&D work that cost billions needs to go ointo making those bluray players. As I said, anyone can make them. Stop pretending like the same thing can be said about consoles. Try this, buy a $250 NUC, by an external bluray drive, install some fre bluray movie playback software on your NUC and boom..... you have a bluray player.

So what might seem mind boggling to you makes perfect sense to me. Maybe i can see the bigger picture here since im not stuck on one company (Not saying you are as i dont really know you) and think its silly i or anyone should be forced to buy a piece of hardware i dont need to play some games i like. But i see this changing in the future. Everything will go digital.

No, you are not seeing the bigger picture of anything. You are just seeing only what you want to see. I do agree thatit will go away eventually, but only when there is one clear resounding winner. What we have now in the console space is basically a very long format war. But as long as we have different companies making games, we will always have exclusives. If you really were seeing the bigger picture, you would know that we are sooner to have everything be on a console than everything be on a PC. Beause whever makes said console needs to give people a reason to buy it.

You will buy a Sony/MS/Nintedo/Samsung etc Set top box that you can install different stores on be that the MS Store, PSStore etc and them stores will have their exclusives (So the companys are still making their money from sales of exclusive content). This imo will be the future.

How does such a future make any sense? How is it even possible? I could go into this so more and tell you how or whythat wouldn't ever happen... and its ven ben tried before. But There is no need. Lets just say in time we will see.
