That is silly statement. Why would they do that?
1. If they did that less people will buy consoles, why buy a console that will have a new one coming out in 3 years? People buy into a generation because of new generation, better hardware, and better games. A 3 year cycle only means... slightly better hardware.
You definitely wont be seeing ps4/xb1 selling numbers
2. They don't make money selling consoles. Hell, they probably losing money selling consoles. When's the last time Microsoft make money selling console? xbox? 360? xb1?
