Barcelona played with only 3 defenders. I can't understand why Unai Emery chose to remain in defensive formation.
Even if it costs them 1, 2 or 3, even 4 goals, it would have been worth putting more effort into attacking like they did in Paris a few weeks ago, for just one single goal.
Granted, they did get that goal anyway eventually, and then the unthinkable happened, but I still think it was a really poorly executed plan. PSG went into the game with a scared mentality even though they were up by 4-0.

Another important note is that our midfield this year is the worst it's been in so many years. By playing so far back and defensively that weakness was pretty much gone. They exploited our shitty midfield so well in the first leg and they completely dismantled us. I really think Emery messed up big time with the tactics. It's true that we were playing 3 4 3 this time around instead of the 4 3 3 in the first leg (credit to Enrique, he finally did something tactically) but still, they gave us so much breathing room our attack was able to shine.

Chelsea was a very different situation. They were probably the best team in the world at parking the bus and our midfield at that time was the best in the world so them trying to contest the midfield would have been futile. They parked the bus and had the best goalkeeper in the world and he performed miracles (Cech). They also had probably the best solo striker in the world who is a god at receiving high balls (Drogba). They wouldn't have beaten Barca any other way. Even with all that being said, they needed a lot of luck to beat Barca that year.
