The OS appears to be as lightweight as possible, so I think it's fair to assume it's using 1 to 1.5 GB of the RAM on average (but we'll see, maybe a bit less if they really really optimized the hell out of this). The other consoles allocate 4 - 5 GB of their RAM to games themselves so it wouldn't be that big of an issue. Video recording though could take up some more RAM though. Unless you had a group of coding sages working daily it's not really doable, and even if something were to be found nVidia and Nintendo would work on fixing it up as quickly as possible. Agreed that pirating is bad, sans the try it out and then buy it method or if you're really really poor and can't afford to buy games but want to enjoy them. |
I hope the OS is smaller than that, for Nintendo's sake.
I think we'll need to wait until someone gets a Shield TV and tears it appart. If the X1 in it is also an A2 rev like the one powering the Switch, then there's the chance of it happening. If not, then it may be because there's some kind of software or hardware customisation we still don't know about that may prevent it.
In any case, time will tell.
Please excuse my bad English.
