It's on a bookshelf in another room and at an placement removed from normal sight-lines.  No way I'd have that where I'd notice it on a regular basis.  There is a Totoro plush on the same shelf to counter-act any negative emotions.  Also, a plush of a cat inside a muffin.  The Japanese really like the concept of edible cats.
