My experience with RTSs goes all the way back to the original Warcraft(never played the Dune games). Played pretty much all the them when they came out, AoE, C&C, etc, until they started going 3D and I kinda let the habit drop by the wayside. Not for any particular reason other than there was very little innovation in the games. AoE2 kept my attention for massive amounts of time. My favorite grouping were teutonic knights researched all he way with the gun guys(can't remember their names) behind them. They were unstoppable. Console RTSs obviously don't control quite as well, but they offer some advantages mainly in the fact that me and a bud can strategize quite easily with the ubiquitous microphone.
