Wii Sports wasn't the wrong direction, it's a good supplement alongside AAA games. Unlike 1-2-Switch which most certainly is the "wrong direction." Wii Sports actually follows many traditional game conventions with challenges, medals and such.

Yes I think they should, Wii Sports was a good game for what it is and would be a welcomed addition alongside what is already coming for the Switch.

That's the main issue that I think a lot of people have begun to remember incorrectly. Wii Sports was hugely popular and brought in a lot of casuals, the Wii lead to a mass exodus of traditional gamers, and so many seem to conflate the two and see one as leading to the other.

The truth is, if Wii Sports was one game alongside other AAA games that gamers wanted on a platform that could handle them, that exodus would not have occured. While it's not everyone's cup of tea, I think the majority of people can appreciate a little fun with something like Wii Sports in the right group.
