Well proper term is Direct Support Professional. But basically Im hired to help special needs people with day-to-day living. |
So are you hired through an organisation ,,where I'm from the local district nursing association ,besides doing nursing also employs carers for the elderly and disabled ,in their case the client pays $5 per time and the govt subsidises the rest but it limited to house work , shopping ,appointments etc . Special needs carrer's are usually hired through the relevent association and seems to be a growth employment opportunity area.
The funny thing a few months ago a former Australian TV personality was on air talking about her new life as a call girl , the way she spun the situation was she was more a social worker than a sex worker and it had to do with the fact that a lot of her clients where handicapped so she was providing a much needed service pardon the pun , still at $800 a time and twice that if she stayed overnight there must be a lot of well off people with a disability or they have sex on a annual basis.
