I did something similar. I flipped the plate over like you but I placed it with the left side pointing down so the ball would continuously roll down. I walked up the slope and jumped on the plate, used statis to stop the ball as it rolls down and hit it a few times and when statis ended the ball went flying in the corner and down the slope.
