The lack of a decent local multiplayer mode is what killed Splatoon on the Wii U for me. As local is a big part of the reason I'm so big on Nintendo, I hope they keep their focus on it. |
My biggest concern when Nintendo announced paid online subscriptions wasn't the new paywall or the likely less than stellar service, but rather that it provided a new financial incentive for Nintendo to go down the same road of restricting local multiplayer that the others have. I hope that concern proves unfounded.
Otherwise, I spent ten minutes trying to figure out how to get local to work with Splatoon, I could hardly believe that they didn't have it. Given the nature of the Switch I have to imagine they'll have it for Splatoon 2... if not, shame on them.
