There are always people who line up for console launches.

Though I've never seen someone buying a console on launch without buying any game. If someone buys a console it's beacuse there's a game experience they'll eventually want to play on it. And since, as you stated, BOTW is the only really interesting game on day 1 it's only natural to expect it's having an impact on Switch launch sales.
