Fire Emblem comes in mind.
While I did play and beat Awakening, I had to revisit that game at least 5 times before I was finally able to get into it, and I still have yet to beat FE7, which has been in my backlog for the longest time.
Dota 2 as well.
I can definitely see why people pour hours in that game, but the genre wasn't really my cup of tea, and the playerbase dissuaded me from playing any longer.
