It is really sad because  the Vita is a really good piece  of hardware 

It's not really even about the taste of the NA audience anymore. The Vita was quietly, unceremoniously, killed off in NA several months ago. The pitiful numbers from this time-frame are essentially stock clearance sales of the lowest order.......:(
