Not sure what you're on about. But I was there. It was ugly from the day I first saw it. I'm not saying this by judging it by today's standards.

Don't get me wrong, I consider the Dreamcast the beauty of that gen, but it was another story from the point of view of people outside gaming circles. Especially those whose opinion defined what was considered "hip" back then. Simply put, looking like a console wasn't a good thing, and the Dreamcast and Gamecube were the last consoles to look like actual games consoles.
