If you look down that Kickstarter link, you'll see that you can choose between Win 10 and Linux.

And yes, it's still not released.

lol, a full system for the same as a single processor... and one that, if leaks and all that turn out to be true, won't be much faster than the one powering that complete system.

By the way, for those that don't need an 8 core/16 threads CPU, the 6c/12t will launch in Q2 and the 4c/8t ones in the second half of the year http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-5-3-launch-1600x-performance-reveal/

Hopefully! I wanted my next cpu upgrade to be an 8 core with really good ipc but intel's prices were just craycray to justify it for me. With Ryzen tho, I finally might be able to get one! Ik pcs dont have generations but I feel like this will be the start of the next generation!

I'd upgrade the RAM to 16GB, but otherwise it's a great PC to lay at 1080p until the PS5/XboxWhatever come and raise the bar again with its ports.

Is there actually many games around currently/in the next couple of years that will be taking advantage of 8c/16 threads?
I want to see more on the 6c/12t series and what they can produce price/power wise.

I doubt it. Some games/engines may use the extra cores, but even them will work equally fine with a 4 core CPU if it's fast enough.

I also want to see what the 6 and 4 cores variants will do, but the decision to make them slower than the 8 core processors is rather odd.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.
