I didn't say to label it as a trans bathroom. Some public places already have a 3rd option, the plaque has both a man and a woman on it, it's usually big enough for just one person, they're usually handicap accessible, and they usually have a locking door. They're designed to be used by anybody that wants to use it. The restroom for your gender isn't very clean or it stinks because somebody just let a massive fart, use the unisex bathroom instead. Are you a parent who want to take their young kid in a safe locking bathroom, use the unisex bathroom. Have a shy bladder, use the unisex bathroom. They're designed to be used by anybody and I frequently use them when I find one somewhere because I like the privacy of having a lock. Wouldn't be too hard to put one such bathroom in any government funded public institutions like government buildings and public schools. Getting department stores and gas stations and such to pay to put them in would be more difficult, but anything worth doing is rarely easy. |
A simpler solution is just allowing transsexuals to use the bathroom they're more comfortable with.
