Do you honestly think the Playstation 4 Pro would have been able to hit those resolution targets if Sony didn't increase the memory bandwidth, didn't introduce delta colour compression to increase the available memory bandwidth, didn't introduce more and better geometry units, didn't increase the amount of texture mapping units that draws all the textures, didn't increase the render output pipelines, didn't increase the Jaguars clockrate and more?

Nah not coincidence, it's just how it works. PS4 Pro gpu is ~2x that of PS4, both in terms of FLOPz, TMUs and shader count. When a newer GPU comes out, all of its aspects get better unless it's a rebrand, thats just common sense. Lemme spoil it for you, it's also gonna happen with the PS5.
