I suppose if you merely go by LTD hardware sales he might be right. But I find it very difficult to see a path from where sales are now to the >85 million that 360 achieved.
The 360 is only 2 million behind on a more or less launch aligned sales, and 360's best selling years have still not happened in that launch aligned comparison.
Market Share: not the best gen so far
Sales in places other than the USA and UK: not the best generation. And esp sales in Japan doing worst of all, way worse than Xb og.
Profits? Possible the most profitable (or lowest losses?) of the 3 generations so far. Xb og was a financial loser for the entire generation, and I believe 360 only became profitable at about the halfway mark. If Xb one is profitable already then I guess by the only metric that matters to shareholders and the board its the best gen yet. Modest and stable long term player base + profits = success.
