The original State of Decay wasn't anything special but it could serve as a good filler and while the first Crackdown ended up being great, we can't deny it's sequel has taken steps backwards just to have it skirt the lines of decency but what ticks me off about Crackdown 3 is that we haven't even seen ANY gameplay specific towards the single player when release is nearing at the end of the year ... It's just sad to have games focus on multiplayer when we all know servers will get shut down in the end. At least with single player games you can be sure it'll run anytime provided your console still works ... And replayability can be designed around single player games, not just multiplayer games and it's utterly fucked up on Microsoft's part that they don't realize that a great single player can last forever whereas it's not even remotely true for multiplayer ... |
Multiplayer games last longer than single player games for a lot of people. Hell, a lot of people don't even play the single player modes anymore. Besides, games with single players have limited replay value and down the road it is usually behind the times on gameplay mechanics. I can't complete a lot of older games just because they age badly or if they're story driven games I only play them once since I know what the story is.
