I dunno, I'm still super excited for Mario Odyssey despite Boswer still being the villain: you can still create an interesting narrative and fun game with the same characters involved.

Maybe, but in general I prefer to have new villains here and there for long running franchises.

But if I wanted to be really nitpicking with this, it isnt really confirmed that Bowser is the main villain, plus you have also those bunny villains.No one knows how much they play into the game story.
