I agree with this. They were crazy taking in so many.
In ireland during the booming economy of 2000-2008 we had a crazy number of eastern Europeans. It caused a lot of social problems in ireland. The number was too high in too short a time.
Now however since the economic crash most returned home and we're left with a more moderate number of eastern Europeans. For example 150k poles. These are generally the more decent people who want to stay and work here. They are mixing into the community very well and the bad will of the public during the boom years is generally gone now.
To me it's all about numbers. Immigration is OK within moderation.
