Read between the lines. Jim is a YouTuber who makes money covering games. He can only cover (very popular) Nintendo games on their own terms and thus this hurts his ability to make money.

So he is using his audience and influence to strike back at Nintendo. His fans (who coincidentally probably like free stuff), will jump on this as an excuse and hurt Nintendo, possibly getting Jim closer to getting the ad revenue he thinks he deserves.

Jim makes a fair living from his Patreon. The Jimquisition is by far his most popular video series and he doesn't monetize it at all. I don't think he is dependant on a tiny bit more ad revenue from Nintendo videos. That's the case for all popular streamers or youtubers that have criticized Nintendo for this in the past.

It's so easy to dismiss this case by saying they're doing it for the money but try to think about the valid points he and others have made and decide if Nintendo is that innocent.
