Illiterate isn't the right word for this. I think he appears to have clear difficulties of reading. Perhaps some form of dyslexia. He's not illiterate.
This would explain a lot of his behaviour, such as refusing telepromptors, (initially) refusing intelligence briefings, and then there were reports saying that he wanted his intelligence briefings condensed down to a single page, with several large bullet points to sum things up, with pictures. Now that last one is unverified. But Trump said just the other day that "all the leaks are real. I get off the phone with the prime minister of Australia, and suddenly everyone knows about it." Obviously all leaks being real is hyperbole, but this is one that does sound beliavable.

This detracts from the many, many, many, many other bad things Trump has done. It makes people ignore the actual facts and assume everything negative is "fake news".

Did you watch some of the videos though? Because the ones I watched, mainly the second and third, do present actual facts. Various videos of him attempting to read, or trying to get out of having to reading. Or testimonies of people (SNL crew) who claim he "can't really read". The term illiterate is wrongfully used in the topic title though. That's for people who can't read. Trump appears to have trouble reading, however.

I'm not sure which word I should use, because he also says that some of the richest people in the US cannot read or write. Maybe this was meant as a joke, but who knows. Maybe there actually is some truth to it, and he is part of it. But, we can go with dyslexia.
But, what about the glasses part?
