Though I do believe this is Microsoft's next-gen console in a sense, they themselves say they're no longer doing generations. This saves time and money like developing new peripherals and whatnot so they can just concentrate on the guts of the system. If people want those kinds of games you're saying, they have to start buying the ones out right now. MS is starting to be risk averse due to big first party titles underperforming or getting ignored altogether,
Scorpio will do fine enough being the most powerful console on the market for however long that is. Then again, E3's not here yet, so there's no telling what their full plan for this system is yet. But delaying the system now would reek of panic mode.
