Youre missing my point. Resolution was most likely not a deciding factor for most people. Internet gaming communities seem to be seriously disconnected from reality.

Also, that has been the narative. People bought it because it was more powerful. I don't think Microsoft especially with the surface team is going to ever be outdone in terms of power again. Also, if you look at the best selling ps4 games, they're multiplatform games for the most part. I think I had a thread that pointed out that the top 30 best selling games for the ps4, only one of them were exclusive which was uncharted 4.
