We would have to check this out, but I think it's highly unlikely or, at least, a legal gray area. It's similar to when people say you can play a ROM in an emulator if you have the game, that's pretty much fake. You usually don't buy software, just a license. As physical discs don't have any kind of online DRM, the companies simply couldn't enforce you to stop playing it. But it still is just a license. If the user contract says they can shut it down, they can.
