Very well stated. I wish more people had the wherewithall to just leave arguments alone, or to understand how useless having the last word on the internet really is. If the other side won't concede, you gain nothing but a temporary ego boost, at the expense of basically everything else.

It's not hard to avoid moderation. Just don't be a jerk to people, stop taking offense to everything, and above all else, debate posts, not posters. If you can't make your point without attacking the other side, well...you just don't have a point.
