Really I laugh when people talk about digital being the future, as in near future. We are decades away from digital even being close to taking over. This gen, the average for the big games has been ~30% digital. That's a good chunk, but that's hardly the kiss of death to physical. We'll probably slowly see a rise to ~40% next gen, maybe 50% the gen after. But until sales of digital are near 85%-90%, I doubt we'll see the death of physical. It's like people saying CDs were dead in the early '00s or DVDs/Blurays were dead when the PS3 launched. Some people just prefer physical media, no hassle with being online to watch/play. Which is part of the reason people got so pissed off about the XBO's original vision. Physical and digital will live beside each other for a while more.
