So much misinformation in this thread, it's scary what some of you believe and/or assume. I know many of you guys like Sony and Blu Ray but that doesn't give you a free pass to be blind.
Less than 1 million stand alone Blu Ray units have been sold.
In fact, more HD DVD stand alone units have been sold than standalone Blu Ray units.
A 1:1 sales ratio for Blu Ray movies is pathetic.
Blu Ray movies typically cost within 10% of DVD movies.
Blu Ray movies account on average for 5-6% of movies sold.
Stand alone Blu Ray player uptake is slower than stand alone DVD player uptake.
