Not really since TV sets are sunk costs so home console manufacturer's can already depend on the market to subsidize those costs for them ...
Out of the 1.6 billion display panels out there, it doesn't seem to hurt market penetration of home consoles and those that can't afford display panels have other things to worry about than video games ...
